This simple stitch pattern creates an interesting openwork effect that will look terrific on a wrap, poncho or tunic.
MATERIALS USED TO MAKE THE SWATCH
Yarn – Knitca Cotton 100% cotton yarn in Dark Coral colour
Needles – 4 mm (US6)
Cast on an even number of stitches. Add 2 selvage stitches if you want to make a nice-looking edge.
Row 1 (right side): [p1, sl 1 wyif], repeat brackets to end.
Row 2 (wrong side): [k1, sl 1 wyib], repeat brackets to end.
Row 3 (right side): [yo&k1], repeat brackets to end.
Row 4 (wrong side): [p1&drop yo], repeat brackets to end.
Repeat rows 1-4 as necessary for completing your project.
All abbreviations are explained in the Key to Chart.
You can also work according to the chart below. Pattern repeat is marked by red frame.
Note: the chart depicts stitches in right side rows from right to left (that is, your first stitch in right side row will be the first stitch on the right of the chart), and stitches in wrong side rows from left to right (that is, your first stitch in wrong side row will be the first stitch on the left of the chart). To make this concept easier, the number of each row is shown at the beginning of the row (number 1 is on the right side of the chart and number 2 is on the left side).
