Ribbing :: 2

This nice eye-catching ribbing stitch pattern will add an accent to any knitted garment. It will also serve as an attractive all over pattern for a hat, mittens or socks.

Yarn shown in this swatch:
Knitca Delight 100% superwash merino yarn, color 0366 Apple Green.

Needles:
US size 4 (3.5 mm) .

Cast on a multiple of 4 stitches. Add 2 selvage stitches if you want to make a nice-looking edge.

Row 1 (right side): *work 2 twisted stitches (knit 2nd stitch through the back loop, don't slip it off the left needle, knit 1st stitch, slip 1st and 2nd stitches off the left needle), purl 2 stitches*, repeat from * to * as necessary.

Row 2 (wrong side): *knit 2 sts, purl 2 sts*, repeat from * to * as necessary.

Repeat rows 1-2 as necessary for completing your project.

You can also work according to the chart below.

Note: the chart depicts stitches in right side rows from right to left (that is, your first stitch in right side row will be the first stitch on the right of the chart) and stitches in wrong side row from left to right (that is, your first stitch in wrong side row will be the first stitch on the left of the chart). To make this concept easier the number of each row is shown at the beginning of row (number 1 is on the right side of the chart and number 2 is on the left side). Ignore this note if you knit in circle and start all your rows from the right of the chart.
