Lace :: 6

Add a twist to your lace. Simple yet intricate, this pattern will be a decoration to any sweater or cardigan. It should also work fine on socks, hat or a scarf.

Yarn shown in this swatch: Knitca Lovely 100% bamboo yarn, color 5245 Eggshell.
Needles: US size 6 (4 mm).

Cast on a multiple of 4 stitches. Add 2 more selvage stitches if you want to make a nice-looking edge.

Row 1 (right side): *twist 2 stitches to the left, purl 2 stitches*, repeat from * to * as necessary.
Row 2 (wrong side): *knit 2 stitches, purl 2 stitches*, repeat from * to * as necessary.
Row 3 (right side): *2 yarn overs, SSK, knit 2 stitches together*, repeat from * to * as necessary.
Row 4 (wrong side): *purl 2 stitches, knit 2 twisted stitches*, repeat from * to * as necessary.
Row 5 (right side): * purl 2 stitches, twist 2 stitches to the left*, repeat from * to * as necessary.
Row 6 (wrong side): *purl 2 stitches, knit 2 stitches*, repeat from * to * as necessary.
Row 7 (right side): *SSK, knit 2 stitches together, 2 yarn overs*, repeat from * to * as necessary.
Row 8 (wrong side): *knit 2 twisted stitches, purl 2 stitches*, repeat from * to * as necessary.

Repeat rows 1-8 till necessary for completing your project.

You can also work according to the chart below.

Note: the chart depicts stitches in right side rows from right to left (that is, your first stitch in right side row will be the first stitch on the right of the chart) and stitches in wrong side row from left to right (that is, your first stitch in wrong side row will be the first stitch on the left of the chart). To make this concept easier for you the number of each row is shown at the beginning of row (number 1 is on the right side of the chart and number 2 is on the left side). Ignore this note if you knit in circle and start all your rows from the right of the chart.
