Cable Stitch Pattern

Garter stitch with vertical stripes made with tiny cables – this reversible stitch pattern calls for a scarf, wrap or blanket. You can also use it as an element or an all-over pattern on a stylish cardigan or sweater.

MATERIALS USED TO MAKE THE SWATCH

Yarn – Knitca Lovely Bamboo 100% bamboo yarn in Lavender colour

Needles – 4 mm (US6)

INSTRUCTIONS

Cast on a multiple of 12 stitches. Add 2 selvage stitches if you want to make a nice-looking edge.

Row 1 (right side): *k3, 3sts right cable, 3sts left cable, k3*, repeat from * to * to end.
Row 2 (wrong side): *k3, p6, k3*, repeat from * to * to end.

Repeat rows 1-2 as necessary for completing your project.

Cable Knitting Stitch Pattern

Note: the chart depicts stitches in right side rows from right to left (that is, your first stitch in right side row will be the first stitch on the right of the chart), and stitches in wrong side rows from left to right (that is, your first stitch in wrong side row will be the first stitch on the left of the chart). To make this concept easier, the number of each row is shown at the beginning of the row (number 1 is on the right side of the chart and number 2 is on the left side).
